FAQ
The honest answers
The questions buyers actually ask, answered the way I would answer them on a call.
Questions and answers
How does an engagement usually start?
With a discovery call. We talk through what is happening, what you have tried, and what a good outcome looks like. If we are a fit, I follow up with a short proposal: scope, approach, timeline, and investment. No pressure and no surprise upsell. If I am not the right person, I will say so and point you somewhere better.
How do you price your work?
By scope, not by hour, for most projects. After discovery you get a fixed proposal so you know the full investment before you commit. Advisory retainers and fractional roles are priced monthly. I do not publish rates because the honest answer is that scope drives price, and I would rather give you a real number than a misleading range.
How long do engagements take?
Facilitation and workshops run from a single session to a few weeks of design and delivery. Scoped projects typically run 6 to 16 weeks. Fractional and advisory work runs for a season, usually three months at minimum, because trust and traction both take time.
What makes this different from a bigger firm?
You work with me, not a leveraged team of analysts you never met during the sale. The practice is integrated on purpose: strategy, learning, change, knowledge, and AI in one brain, so nothing gets lost between specialists. And the goal is capability, not dependency: you keep the playbooks, the systems, and the institutional memory.
What sectors do you work in?
The practice grew up in education and nonprofits, and the systems work translates directly across sectors: finance, oil and gas and energy, healthcare, technology, government, and philanthropy. Operating models, learning systems, knowledge architecture, and change hold the same shape everywhere; only the vocabulary changes. I also partner with other consultancies as a specialist on their engagements, quietly or by name.
Can you work with our team remotely?
Yes, and most engagements run that way end to end. The practice is remote-first by design: discovery, facilitation, builds, and readouts all work brilliantly at a distance, across time zones. For planning intensives and community engagement work, in-person time is sometimes worth it, and travel is scoped into the proposal when it is.
What does the AI work actually look like?
Practical and unglamorous, in the best way. We find the workflows where AI genuinely helps, design the prompts, agents, and automations around your real knowledge, and run the change management so the tools get used. No hype, no pilot that dies in a slide deck.
Can you work with our procurement and vendor onboarding process?
Yes, and the practice is built to be easy to buy from. W-9 and banking details on request, certificates of insurance, vendor registration and supplier portal forms completed promptly, and quick turnaround on standard MSAs and NDAs. Invoices arrive numbered, itemized, and on time. As a Latina-, multilingual-, and woman-owned practice, certifications for supplier diversity programs are listed on this site as they are granted. If your team needs a capabilities document for the vendor file, the PDF on this site is built for exactly that.
